Plinio Vanini
Vice President, Federauto
Plinio Vanini began his journey at Autotorino in 1985, after the untimely death of his father, leaving his great passion for farming in the background. From a salon with a workshop in Morbegno, in small steps he began to outline what today is Autotorino thanks to a very clear vision: to create a model extremely close to customers, through the personalization of the offer, a multi-brand proposal and multiple mobility services. It thus became the Italian leader in the sector from 2015 and consolidated its role by its own lines and subsequent acquisitions. The company has maintained its headquarters in Valtellina and operates a territorial network of 70 branches in 24 provinces in Lombardy, Piemonte, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, and Lazio. In 2024, it launches the new Used Car brand BeBeep, and from January 2025, the first international project materializes, with the operational start of the acquisition of Mercedes-Benz Warsaw branch. One of Autotorino's hallmarks is a vision oriented toward quality and innovation in organizational models and services offered to the public, supported by constant investment in training, research and development: a path that has earned Autotorino numerous times the national award for Management Innovation from the Automotive Dealer Day jury. Autotorino, moreover, also asserts itself among the best performing Italian companies in terms of management and capacity to produce employment, as well as financial reliability; aspects confirmed by constant growth and the CR Awards promoted by Milano Finanza MF-Centralerisk, which count Autotorino among the 100 most punctual companies in relations with the financial and banking system, uninterruptedly since 2022. Plinio Vanini, meanwhile, has continued to cultivate his passion for animal husbandry, bringing to fruition the project of an authentic, modernly organized alpine farm, the La Fiorida agritourism company, and leading the Sondrio Provincial Breeders' Association (APA) from 2005 to 2018 and the Lombardy Regional Breeders' Association (ARAL) from 2018 to 2022.
